Now, on to the best part.... my thoughts on The Kiss Quotient.
This book gave me life y'all. I absolutely loved it. This might be my most recommended book to date and it's only been about two weeks since I finished it. I cannot say enough good things about this novel. I am telling absolutely everyone to read it. I saw many other rave reviews for it, and I thought that it wouldn't live up to the hype. I'm here to tell you that IT DID!
The Kiss Quotient is Helen Hoang's debut novel. It is a feel-good romance with just as much heart as heat. While it does follow the typical plot line of a romance novel, it is done in a refreshing way. Stella Lane, the leading lady, has Asperger's and she is a character that I easily and immediately fell in love with. Stella is feeling the pressure to settle down but struggles with intimacy so she decides to hire a teacher (or an escort, same thing - right?) to help her check off boxes on her self-imposed lesson plans. Insert escort Michael Phan here, and he is a book boyfriend to rival the best of them on your list. Much like he did with me, Michael swept Stella off her feet. To find out more about Stella's steamy lesson plans and what makes Michael so dang perfect you'll have to read their story on your own. What I want you to know is that their love story is a unique take on the traditional boy-meets-girl-and-the-rest-is-history trope and I couldn't get enough of it. I stayed up well past my bedtime to read this one. I had the pleasure of buddy reading this with a pair of amazing book lovers, Ashley of @booksandbuttons and Jenn of @storiesandcoffee. We loved chatting about The Kiss Quotient and I highly recommend you read it with a friend or as part of your book club.
If you love heartwarming romance with a heavy dose of heat between the sheets and characters you can't help but fall for, this one is for you!
I give this one 4.5 blush-worthy stars out of 5.
