Emma in the Night

‘I lied I lied I lied. But telling the truth was not on my list.’ -Emma in the Night

Emma in the Night by Wendy Walker is compulsive and addicting. I thoroughly enjoyed this mind-bending ride on the crazy train. This book grabbed me from start to finish with no downtime in between. Emma in the Night is a tale of the disappearance of two sisters and their psychologically disturbed family. Wendy Walker expertly crafted a tale of dysfunctional characters and relationships that is unraveled throughout the pages. One night two sisters go missing without much of a trace of what could have happened. Three long years later one sister, Cass, shows up on her mother’s doorstep. Where has she been all this time? What happened to them? Where is Emma, the other sister? We get to follow the twisted story as it weaves between Cass’s recollection of events and Dr. Abby Walker’s, forensic psychologist, evaluations. I had so many theories while reading this book, they formed and changed and got completely thrown out the window with each piece of additional information that was brought to light. Who is lying? Everyone? Who is telling the truth? Anyone?

This is a twisted tale of survival you do not want to miss.

I give this one 4.5 deceptively dysfunctional stars out of 5.

I was able to read this thanks to a book train that started with some book friends over on Instagram. I was the third stop and I'll be passing it on to someone else to read and review.
