Pretty Girls

January 24, 2017

This is The 5 Star review that fueled the passion for me to finally create a Bookstagram account, then a Twitter account and finally this blog.  This was my first {and only} Karin Slaughter book.  I actually listened to the audiobook of Pretty Girls.  It also jump started my love for the audiobook world.  I had a major book hangover after finishing this one.

Book Hangover • [boo k] [hang-oh-ver] • noun • The inability to start a new book because you are still living in the old book's world

This is easily one of the darkest books I have read to date. It makes Gone Girl look like a walk in the park. If you enjoy deep and twisted psychological thrillers this book is for you. If you cannot handle vulgarity, then you might want to skip this one. At times it was graphic and disturbing but still heart wrenchingly good. It takes turns you aren't expecting and just when you think it can't get any worse, you are proven wrong. Despite the fact that this novel was perturbing, to say the least, I would highly recommend reading it. If you like psychological thrillers, you will not be disappointed with this one.

I give this book 5 incredibly distrubing stars out of 5
